Kronch started back in 1993, and from the very beginning it has been our philosophy to produce quality dog food with upmost respect for nature.

For this very reason we use only raw ingredients of the highest quality.

Salmon

We rely on fresh salmon from Scandinavia in the production of Kronch.

Our business partner is one of Europe’s leading (and most respected) producers of salmon for the food industry and the salmon we receive daily from them is treated as if it were intended for human consumption.

The saltwater salmon is bred in Scandinavian fjords where they are sheltered by thousands of small island and rocks and provided with a healthy and nutritional food balance.

Why Scandinavia? For us this is easy . . . clean clear waters, a well-regulated and controlled fishing industry, excellent sustainability credentials and utmost respect for the environment.

We only receive cheek and tail meat from our supplier (no entrails are used).

People often ask if we use Scottish salmon in the production of our products, the simple answer is no.

We ONLY use fresh salmon from our partner in Scandinavia.

Would you like to understand more? You are more than welcome at our factory in Denmark at any time to see the quality controls and production for yourself . . . we have nothing to hide.

Bloodmeal

Blood meal contains approximately 87% protein and is easily digested. Being a natural source of iron, bloodmeal is responsible for all the iron in our feed. We get 100% of our bloodmeal from Danish pigs.

Fishmeal

Fishmeal is an excellent source of natural, bio-appropriate amino acids (the building blocks of proteins), fats and certain minerals and vitamins. Here at Kronch we only use Danish produced fishmeal of the highest quality that is made from fish from the North Sea.

Brewers Yeast

Brewers yeast is dried yeast from the production of beer. Rich in B vitamins (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7, and B9) and antioxidants, brewer’s yeast promotes healthy skin, hair, eyes, and liver function in both humans and pets.

Barley

Barley is low in cholesterol, high in fibre and provides several micronutrients including selenium and copper. Only Danish grown barley of the highest quality is used in our feed.

Wheat

Wheat provides a great source of energy and a good source of protein and is used as a high-quality carbohydrate source. Only Danish grown wheat of the highest quality is used in our feed.

Corn / Maize

Corn delivers several of the required nutritional needs that dogs have such as protein, carbohydrates, linoleic acid, antioxidants and fibre. We use European grown corn and ensure that no genetically modified varieties are used.

Sugar Beet

Only Danish produced sugar beet pills are used in Kronch feed.

In the production of sugar, the beet is dissolved in warm water, leaving behind a mass resembling porridge. This “porridge” is dried and formed into pills. It is these pills that are added to our feed. These pills normally contain less than 1% sugar and large amounts of partly digestible plant fibres. Sugar beet are mainly added because of their fibre content, which stabilise the dog’s intestinal flora, and ensures the dog a healthy and well-functioning intestine, which helps give the dog’s stools the right consistency.

During extrusion, the ingredients are heated up at high pressure to more than 130 degrees centigrade. This kills off all bacteria and causes the starch in the cereal products to react with water, producing easily digestible carbohydrate. This carbohydrate is easily digested by the dog, unlike starch, which the dog cannot utilise.

Rice

Rice is a good source of dietary fibre which is important in maintaining intestinal health. Rice is a digestible carbohydrate and provides beneficial minerals and B vitamins. The rice we use is grown in Europe and is fact ‘broken rice’, this is, quite simply, fragments of rice grains that is left over from the drying and milling process.

Additives

We add a couple of additives such as Lecithin. Lecithin is present in the dog’s body and is essential for the wellbeing of all cells, preventing health problems. If not consumed in sufficient amounts, the dog may easily be affected by viruses and diseases.

Lecithin is a substance that is known to have some benefits and stimulate memory and learning abilities. Many dog trainers in fact will recommend the administration of lecithin for dogs prior to starting and during a training course.
